Reyum is a registered non-profit non-governmental organisation. All of our exhibitions and events are free and open to the public. The everyday operations of Reyum are funded through generous ongoing operating cost grants from the Kasumisou Foundation and the Albert Kunstadter Family Foundation, as well as through smaller private donations from our visitors and friends. The ongoing operations of Reyum are also supported by income from the sale of our publications and the occasional sale of artworks from specific shows. All income from such sales is channeled back into the development and expansion of Reyum programming.

Specific research projects, exhibitions, and publications have been funded by grants from the Asia Center of the Japan Foundation, the Prince Claus Fund, the Asian Cultural Council, the Rockefeller Foundation, and the Toyota Foundation.
